24/7 Emergency Vets

The Animal Emergency Centres (AEC) provide premier after hours vet care to sick and injured pets with vet hospitals located in Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Noosa and the Gold Coast. Our purpose is to save pets lives using the highest standards of emergency and critical care medicine and surgery, delivered professionally and compassionately.

The dedicated emergency vets and veterinary nurses of the AEC are highly qualified and skilled in pet emergency and critical care. We will provide you with an honest assessment of your pets condition and will work with you to tailor a plan that is appropriate to your situation. We understand the importance of your pet as a member of the family and will treat them with the up-to-date knowledge, care and compassion we would give our own pets.

About the Animal Emergency Centre

The first Animal Emergency Centre (AEC) opened at Mount Waverley in 1975, when a group of Melbourne veterinary practitioners decided a better facility was required to serve clients in need of emergency treatment. Our centres can now be found across Australia.

Pet accidents and emergencies are something pet parents have no control over, despite best intentions, and it’s inevitable emergencies may happen outside your family vet’s normal hours. Our dedicated team is here to support you when your regular vet is closed and your pet needs treatment fast.

Our emergency vets and veterinary nurses provide high-quality after-hours care to your pets. Our flexible hours provide you peace of mind in the event of an emergency and ensure you and your fur babies have access to high-quality care when they need it the most. Our dedicated vets and nurses are ready to deal with any emergency.

In Victoria, we have locations in Mount Waverley, Moorabbin, Dandenong and Frankston. In South Australia, we have a centre in Norwood, and our Western Australian centre can be found in Midland. Queensland pets are treated at our Noosa, Kedron, Woolloongabba and Gold Coast centres.

Our AECs have more than 100 dedicated veterinarians and veterinary nurses to ensure the highest quality veterinary care is available to your pet around the clock.

Our staff are highly qualified and skilled in emergency and critical care. A commitment to lifelong learning is an integral part of our ethos. We have a consultant in emergency and critical care to ensure our protocols are regularly updated and all animal patients are treated with the very latest knowledge. Each of our AEC locations is equipped with a range of diagnostic tools of the trade, and our team is ready, willing and able to deal with any emergency vet situations that may arise.
